During September, we were getting outside a lot to enjoy the beautiful weather.
As we were walking around town, we noticed that some of the kids did not know the street names, landmarks or how to return to the Montana Education Program office.
Katie and Angela decided to create a Scavenger hunt to help them learn how to navigate around downtown Livingston.
We created a simple map and questions about different locations throughout the community. They had to find different landmarks and write that location on their map. Additionally, at each intersection we always ask, "What streets are at this intersection?" to help them recognize locations and buildings.
The Scavenger Hunt included questions such as: - Where can you garden with others in the community?
- Where can you "fly away" with a mural?
- In which direction is the river located?
They loved seeing the murals in town and learning about some of the unique buildings in our community.
